Is ‘Fix fasting first concept’ still live? Martin Riddle

  • Yes. Alive.

  • Riddle’s found that lower HbA1c not associated with exposure to more post prandial hyperglycaemia. In fact all levels of HbA1c was associated with higher contribution from fasting hyperglycaemia unlike the data from Monnier.

    arrow Revision of Professional Fee Schedule
    On 2 July 2010, the Ministry of Health under the directive of the Director General, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Hj Mohd Ismail bin Merican, called for a meeting on a prposal for a new Fee Schedule. 46 different medical organisations were called for the meeting ranging from the Association of Specialists in Private Medical Practice Malaysia, Malaysian Society of Nephrology, Malaysian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition Society of Malaysia to the various Colleges of the Academy of Medicine and including MEMS.

Prof. Dr. Norlela Sukor from the Department of Medicine, UKM who was recently awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Queensland, Australia. The title of her thesis was "Genetic, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Aspects of Primary Aldosteronism".
