DR. SEE CHEE KEONG
President of MEMS Council 2026-2028
Dear MEMS Members and Colleagues,
It is a profound honour and privilege to be elected as the President of the Malaysian Endocrine and Metabolic Society (MEMS) for the 2026–2028 term.
At the outset, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my predecessor, Dr. Nurain Mohd Noor, for her exemplary tenure and visionary leadership as President from 2022 to 2026. I am immensely grateful for her trust in me to carry the torch forward. As we step into this new chapter, my primary vision is to serve as a bridge for the future generations of endocrinologists and healthcare professionals in Malaysia, ensuring that the legacy we build today paves a sustainable, vibrant pathway for tomorrow.
Moving forward, our society’s journey will be guided by five core principles: Progressiveness, Inclusivity, Visibility, Transparency, and Togetherness.
To realize this vision, our newly elected council is dedicated to championing several key strategic pillars during this term:
- Bridging Sectors through Collaboration:We will actively encourage and foster deeper synergies between the public sector, the private sector, and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) university hospitals.
- Advocacy for Rare Diseases:MEMS will firmly establish itself as a leading, compassionate voice for rare disease advocacy and awareness, ensuring these underserved patient populations receive the clinical dedication, focus, and resources they rightfully deserve.
- Empowering Research & Career Development:We are deeply committed to fostering an ecosystem that supports clinical research, provides high-impact educational opportunities, and creates clear, rewarding career development pathways for all our members.
- Open and Transparent Communication:A truly progressive society relies on the collective voice of its members. We are establishing accessible channels of communication to ensure that every member has a direct path to share ideas, offer constructive feedback, and actively contribute to our shared goals.
An Eye on the Global Stage: Vision 2030
Our collective efforts over the next few years will also lay the critical groundwork for a historic milestone. I am thrilled to lead our society as we prepare to host both the ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Societies (AFES) Congress and the Asia-Oceania Congress of Endocrinology (AOCE) in 2030. This will be a monumental opportunity to showcase Malaysian endocrinology on the global stage, a feat we can only achieve by working hand-in-hand.
No single leader can build a future alone. I am incredibly proud to lead a dedicated, dynamic council that is fully committed to serving you better. But above all, our true strength lies in our togetherness as a community.
I invite each of you to actively engage with us, share your invaluable expertise, and join us in making MEMS more impactful, visible, and progressive than ever before.
Thank you for your trust, your dedication, and your continued support.
Warmest regards,
Dr See Chee Keong
President, Malaysian Endocrine and Metabolic Society (MEMS) (2026-2028)
